About the role
This position is vital to operational success, ensuring shifts are appropriately staffed with full-time, part-time, and locum tenens clinicians. The Clinician Coverage Scheduler supports organizational goals by balancing staffing needs with operational efficiency to enhance patient care and maintain reliable coverage.
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and publish clinician schedules across assigned programs
- Fill open and emergency shifts in collaboration with Recruitment, HR, Privileging, and Operations teams
- Coordinate onboarding and orientation for new clinicians with the Clinician Experience team
- Communicate proactively with clinicians and internal stakeholders to ensure timely shift coverage
- Negotiate with clinicians to fill shifts while balancing budget and contractual requirements
- Maintain accurate scheduling documentation and data within the scheduling system
- Develop professional relationships with clinicians through phone, email, and other communication channels
- Support organizational goals by providing 90-day advance scheduling notice whenever possible
Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience in healthcare scheduling, operations, or a related field
- Proven ability to manage complex workloads accurately while meeting tight deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and scheduling software
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field
- Experience coordinating locum tenens or per diem providers
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Pay
$65,000 per year. Incentive plan included.
