About the Role
Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources (PBMHR) has an opening for a Child and Youth Clinician to provide services at a mental health center in Richton, MS. This position works with children and youth who have a serious mental illness diagnosis. The role is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with no on-call duties.
For 50 years, Pine Belt Mental Healthcare Resources has served individuals throughout the Pine Belt, offering an extensive continuum of care to enable adults with serious mental illnesses, children with serious emotional disturbances, and individuals with an addiction or developmental disability to live, work, learn, and participate fully in their communities. The service area includes eighteen counties: Amite, Franklin, Forrest, Hancock, Harrison, Jones, Lamar, Lawrence, Covington, Greene, Jeff Davis, Marion, Pearl River, Perry, Pike, Stone, Walthall, and Wayne.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
- Ask appropriate questions as required by clinical intake documentation to elicit information.
- Assist consumers in establishing realistic therapeutic goals appropriate to the problems presented.
- Participate in team staffings and function as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
- Provide clinical therapy services and emergency services to consumers and their families.
- Provide written records of consumer's progress through the therapeutic process.
- Use information obtained in clinical observations to suggest diagnosis and severity of condition.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in a behavioral health field (required).
- Clinical license (preferred).
- Must be able to obtain a clinical license or DMH Therapist certification within 90 days of hire.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Behavioral health experience (preferred).
- Behavioral health internship (required).
- Ability to work independently.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
