Internship Overview

DePelchin Children’s Center is dedicated to strengthening the well‑being of children and families. The Family and Youth Success (FAYS) Program offers a clinical internship designed to provide graduate students with meaningful, hands‑on experience while developing foundational clinical skills in a supportive learning environment. Clinical interns maintain a small caseload and provide individual and family therapy services to youth and families. Because the program accepts a limited number of interns, students receive individualized clinical supervision, hands‑on learning, and high‑quality training in evidence‑based practices.

  • Participate in real‑time observation and supervision of therapy sessions.

  • Apply evidence‑based and strengths‑based approaches when working with youth and families.
  • Maintain professional, ethical, and confidential practices in accordance with agency and university requirements.

Training & Professional Development

Interns receive training and practical exposure to evidence‑based practices, which may include:

  • Reliable transportation (interns are responsible for their own transportation)
  • Professional liability insurance prior to the internship start date
  • Ability to meet applicable university or academic program internship requirements
  • Commitment to working professionally and compassionately with children, youth, and families

Supervision

Pre‑Internship & Onboarding Requirements

Selected interns must successfully complete all applicable onboarding requirements prior to beginning the internship, including:
