Principal Duties
- Works collaboratively with and supports the DIO to maintain full accreditation of its training programs including oversight and monitoring of program and institutional accreditation compliance;
- Provides leadership in maintaining an optimal learning and work environment, applying best practices in balancing the needs of patients and learners;
- Serves as a liaison with academic partners as needed;
- Serves as the DIO’s designated official GME representative for IFH when the DIO is unavailable;
- Serves on the Graduate Medical Education Committee (GMEC);
- Provides oversight and monitoring of programs’ annual progress toward goals and reporting to outside entities;
- Affords assistance in sharing best practices across the Institute’s learning community around issues such as managing professionalism issues, remediating deficiencies, etc.
- Maintains a primary care patient panel;
- Assists in other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Five years of progressively more responsible academic leadership experience
- Graduate of an accredited medical school and an accredited residency program in Family Medicine
- NY State Medical License
- Board Certified in Family Medicine
- Current BCLS Certificate
- Current DEA Certificate
- Effective interpersonal, communication, organizational, and management skills
