Clinical Transport Assistant

About the role

This role is responsible for assisting the clinical team—including imaging technologists, nurses, and physicians—with all daily activities of the department. Duties may include greeting patients and family members, handling oxygen tanks, transporting monitored or unmonitored patients to and from all clinical areas, and assisting in preparing patients for exams.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competence to assist in the care for the following patient populations: infant (birth to 1 year), child (1 through 12 years), adolescent (13 through 17 years), adult (18 to 65 years), and geriatric (over 65 years).
• Properly identifies all patients for procedures and safely transports or assists them to the appropriate exam room.
• Completes the "Ticket to Ride" for each patient before transporting.
• Transports supplies, equipment, and instruments for the department.
• Returns or delivers items (e.g., O2 tanks, O2 holders) to appropriate areas or personnel.
• Performs related duties requiring basic knowledge and skill in all department-specific areas or modalities to assist clinical staff.
• Adheres to universal precaution techniques in performance of daily activities.
• Utilizes the hospital EPIC computer system.
• Understands and helps satisfy customer needs, including patients, families, guests, medical staff, and coworkers from diverse backgrounds.
• Responds positively to change and demonstrates a willingness to learn new ways to accomplish work.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by authorized personnel or as required in emergencies (e.g., fire or disaster).

Requirements

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
• CPR certification (must obtain within the first 90 days of employment)

Part-time, AM/PM shift on Tuesday and Thursday, 10:00 AM – 10:30 PM.
