About the role

Provides clinical training and support to customers, as a subject matter expert, on-site and/or remotely to ensure the customer is prepared to operate their equipment according to safe and effective use guidelines and to fully utilize the complex functionality of the technology to meet their business needs. As a Clinical Specialist, you will support VIS products and procedures by assisting, training, and educating physicians, nurses, other hospital staff, and technicians on the use of our products. While the role will be primarily locally based, the position may require regional and local travel (approx. 60%).

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person case coverage
    • Ensures product/s and ancillary components are available for each case.
    • Completes and processes all procedure-related paperwork as required.
    • Tracks and reports all customer complaints.
    • Ensures physicians and staff have the most current information available.
    • Manages a disposable inventory sufficient to cover assigned case load.
    • Brings products (including Microwave and Cryoablation generators) to cases as required.
  • Trains and educates physicians and hospital staff on use of assigned VIS products
    • Provides on-site clinical support during procedures while maintaining a “hands-off” posture in relation to direct patient contact.
    • Interacts with customers and functional organizations to determine their training needs and uses engineering documentation such as Operators Manuals and DFUs to develop content of courses.
    • May coordinate or lead customer and/or employee training classes.
    • May conduct large group presentations at seminars, training programs, and trade shows.
    • May provide demo support to local, regional, and national customer trade events.
  • Provides first-line product technical support
    • Performs new installation support to ensure products are working as specified.
    • Provides first-line technical service support via Engineering or Field Service Engineer oversight, when necessary.
  • Collaborates with the VIS Medical Affairs Team
    • Assists Medical Education, Medical Information, and Medical Science Liaisons if required.
    • Documents day-to-day interactions with physician customers.
    • Provides competitive product performance information to headquarters marketing or engineering groups.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Clinical Background – IR/CT Technician, Operating Room Nurse, or Surgical Technician preferred.
  • Experience/Knowledge of IR suite, Operating Room Protocol, and Sterile Technique.
  • Experience in supporting vascular procedures highly regarded.
  • Experience in supporting tissue ablation procedures highly regarded.
  • Ability to work in a high-intensity, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Analytical with an ability/desire to solve problems.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to lift approximately 150 pounds.
  • Candidate must live within close proximity or be willing to relocate to Kansas City.
  • This is a field-based "remote" position that requires onsite work at several local customer locations.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license in the state of residence and may not have any prior DUI/DWI convictions or pending DUI/DWI charges or other serious moving violations (unless prohibited by state/local law).
  • Position must have full access to Siemens Healthineers' client sites to perform the essential functions of this role. Many clients require Siemens Healthineers employees to meet Vendor Credentialing requirements, which may include but are not limited to: proof of valid identification, criminal background checks, drug screens, immunizations, annual TB testing, and healthcare training.

Pay

The base pay range for this position is $98,140 - $134,937. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. If this is a commission-eligible position, the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
