About the role
As a Clinical Specialist, you will support VIS products and procedures by assisting, training, and educating physicians, nurses, other hospital staff, and technicians on the use of our products. While primarily locally based, this position may require regional and local travel (approximately 60%).
Responsibilities
- Provide in-person case coverage:
- Ensure products and ancillary components are available for each case.
- Complete and process all procedure-related paperwork as required.
- Track and report all customer complaints.
- Ensure physicians and staff have the most current information available.
- Manage disposable inventory sufficient to cover assigned case load.
- Bring products (including Microwave and Cryoablation generators) to cases as required.
- Train and educate physicians and hospital staff on the use of assigned VIS products:
- Provide on-site clinical support during procedures while maintaining a “hands-off” posture in relation to direct patient contact.
- Interact with customers and functional organizations to determine their training needs and use engineering documentation (e.g., Operators Manuals, DFUs) to develop course content.
- Coordinate or lead customer and/or employee training classes.
- Conduct large group presentations at seminars, training programs, and trade shows.
- Provide demo support to local, regional, and national customer trade events.
- Provide first-line product technical support:
- Perform new installation support to ensure products are working as specified.
- Provide first-line technical service support via Engineering or Field Service Engineer oversight when necessary.
- Collaborate with the VIS Medical Affairs Team:
- Assist Medical Education, Medical Information, and Medical Science Liaisons if required.
- Document day-to-day interactions with physician customers.
- Provide competitive product performance information to headquarters marketing or engineering groups.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred.
- Clinical Background: IR/CT Technician, Operating Room Nurse, or Surgical Technician preferred.
- Experience/Knowledge of IR suite, Operating Room Protocol, and Sterile Technique.
- Experience in supporting vascular procedures highly regarded.
- Experience in supporting tissue ablation procedures highly regarded.
- Ability to work in a high-intensity, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Analytical with an ability/desire to solve problems.
- Team player.
- Ability to lift approximately 150 pounds.
- Must live within close proximity to Houston, TX or be willing to relocate.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license in the state of residence with no prior DUI/DWI convictions or pending charges, or other serious moving violations (unless prohibited by state/local law).
- Must meet all Vendor Credentialing requirements for client site access, which may include but are not limited to:
- Proof of valid identification (photo, driver’s license, SSN).
- Criminal background checks.
- Drug screens.
- Immunizations (COVID-19, Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Influenza, Tetanus).
- Annual TB testing.
- Healthcare training.
Pay
The base pay range for this position is $98,140 - $134,937. Factors affecting starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. If commission-eligible, commissions will be based on individual and/or company performance.
