Clinical Therapist

This position is for our new Copper Hills Clinic opening November 2026.

About the Role

We are looking for a therapist to help run our mental health and substance abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for Intermountain Behavioral Health on the Cottonwood Campus. The IOP program offers multidisciplinary, structured services at a greater frequency and intensity than routine outpatient treatment. Common treatment modalities include individual, family, and group psychotherapy and medication management. This role will work in the Cottonwood Psychiatry and Counseling Department, located at the TOSH campus.

To show our commitment to you and to assist with your transition into our organization, we are happy to offer a $2,500 sign-on bonus (external candidates only). This role requires up to a 60-90 day credentialing process; selected candidates will need to successfully complete it prior to starting.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's medical history, mental health and substance abuse history, and current presentation to understand the patient's needs from treatment.
• Diagnose and treat various mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders.
• Develop a plan of care either individually or with input from the patient, patient family/significant others, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Provide treatment based on patient need and evidenced-based interventions.
• Refer patients to other services to improve their well-being, including community services, treatment programs, support groups, and/or psychiatrists (or other mental health providers).
• Properly document pertinent information regarding the patient's plan of care.
• Work with the multi-disciplinary team to develop a discharge plan to provide further care, services, and referrals to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide psychological testing as indicated by the patient's condition.
• Comply with federal, state, local, and clinical program/facility standards.
• Provide care and treatment within the scope of the Mental Health Practice Act.

Requirements

• Master's Degree or higher in Social Work or related field from an accredited institution.
• Current Utah State Licensure as LCSW or CMHC.
• Experience in brief therapy, solution-focused therapy, DBT training, CBT training, trauma-informed care, and/or group counseling.

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of developing and implementing IOP services.
• Understanding and use of different treatment modalities with a strong skill set in Substance Abuse, CBT, DBT, Treatment Planning, psychoeducation, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing.

Schedule

• Shifts are Monday-Friday during regular office hours from 9 AM-5 PM, with some flexibility to set hours around program needs.
• Availability required to work 6 evenings per month.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $35.60 - $54.93. Actual hourly rate is dependent upon experience and licensure.
