Major Responsibilities / Activities

  • Complete psychiatric assessment on child & adolescent patient
  • Conduct psychosocial evaluations and provide therapeutic interventions including crisis counseling child & adolescent patients and their families as needed
  • Facilitate behavioral health clinical care management
  • Determine an evaluation plan addressing referral questions, including diagnostic questions, treatment recommendations, and/or needs for special education accommodations
  • Administer, score, and interpret psychological measures
  • Write a thorough testing report explaining the results of the evaluation
  • Provide feedback to the client regarding the results of the evaluation, and, if requested, coordinate with other providers to share the testing results
  • Provide excellent customer service for clients and collaborate with a dynamic team
  • Utilize creativity in interventions to help clients achieve and exceed goals

Required/Preferred Education And Experience

  • Candidates are required to be licensed and credentialed to practice in the state of Virginia
  • Must have a clinical or counseling Psychology Doctorate from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program and must have completed an APA-approved clinical psychology internship
  • Experience with completing psychological evaluations
  • Familiarity with working with/within school systems and familiarity with the IEP/504 Process
  • Ability to complete and submit documentation of services and other documents in a timely manner
