Major Responsibilities / Activities
- Complete psychiatric assessment on child & adolescent patient
- Conduct psychosocial evaluations and provide therapeutic interventions including crisis counseling child & adolescent patients and their families as needed
- Facilitate behavioral health clinical care management
- Determine an evaluation plan addressing referral questions, including diagnostic questions, treatment recommendations, and/or needs for special education accommodations
- Administer, score, and interpret psychological measures
- Write a thorough testing report explaining the results of the evaluation
- Provide feedback to the client regarding the results of the evaluation, and, if requested, coordinate with other providers to share the testing results
- Provide excellent customer service for clients and collaborate with a dynamic team
- Utilize creativity in interventions to help clients achieve and exceed goals
Required/Preferred Education And Experience
- Candidates are required to be licensed and credentialed to practice in the state of Virginia
- Must have a clinical or counseling Psychology Doctorate from an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited program and must have completed an APA-approved clinical psychology internship
- Experience with completing psychological evaluations
- Familiarity with working with/within school systems and familiarity with the IEP/504 Process
- Ability to complete and submit documentation of services and other documents in a timely manner
