About the Role

At Fast Pace Health, Clinical Techs provide clinical and administrative support essential for effective patient care under the direct supervision of a Provider, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant. They deliver outstanding patient service, maintain a compassionate and welcoming atmosphere, and respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. The role involves effective customer service for all internal and external customers using excellent, in-depth knowledge and strong communication with team members.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfill all responsibilities of the Patient Care Specialist position as detailed in the specific job description.
  • Maintain friendly, cordial relations with all employees, building and maintaining confidence and credibility.
  • Deliver clinical and administrative support for the team while adhering to all company policies and procedures.

  • Ensure activities comply with Federal and State regulations, including HIPAA and health information management guidelines.
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake.
  • Triage patients by checking vitals, performing blood draws, and administering injections.
  • Observe patients, chart changes in conditions (e.g., adverse reactions to medication or treatment), and take necessary action.
  • Assist with lab testing and phlebotomy.
  • Support providers in preparing for minor procedures and physicals.
  • Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatment.
  • Assist patients utilizing a Virtual Medicine Provider.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of patient charts and forward them as appropriate.
  • Arrange referrals to specialists and obtain pre-authorizations as directed by the Provider.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating professionally with customers, co-workers, and managers.
  • Perform federal and non-federal DOT, BAT, and Drug Screen exams.
  • Perform the physical, sensory, cognitive, and environmental functions of the position as specified in the physical demands.
  • Comply with Company standards of operations and promote a respectful culture of confidentiality.
  • Complete all mandatory compliance training.
  • Maintain overall cleanliness of the office, including taking out garbage, organizing spaces, and assisting team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Assist with clerical work such as checking in patients, recording demographic, insurance, and financial information with strong attention to detail.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and relay relevant information on payment policies and billing/collection processes.
  • Work as part of the team by answering telephones, taking messages, and returning voicemails professionally.
  • Prepare patient charts for virtual patient communication via phone or video conferencing.
  • Assist with patient follow-ups, including pharmacy requests, paperwork, scheduling, and clinical calls with patients or other facilities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Current CPR license.
  • Experience requirements vary by level:
    • Level 1: At least 1 year of experience as a certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic (preferred in a clinic setting, ideally urgent care).
    • Level 2: Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic with a current CPR license and either (1) 4 years’ experience in a relevant role and 2 years of Fast Pace experience as a Clinical Tech, or (2) 6 years’ experience in a relevant role.
    • Level 3: Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic with a current CPR license and either (1) 6 years’ experience in a relevant role and 2 years of Fast Pace experience as a Clinical Tech, or (2) 8 years’ experience in a relevant role.
    • Level 4: Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic with a current CPR license and either (1) 6 years’ experience in a relevant role and 2 years of Fast Pace experience as a Clinical Tech, or (2) 8 years’ experience in a relevant role.
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant school strongly preferred; license must be active, in good standing, and verifiable.
  • TB and IV Certification required within 60 days of employment (if applicable in your state).
  • Must be receptive to training and active within 7 days of hire.
