Responsibilities

  • Fulfill all responsibilities of the Patient Care Specialist position as detailed in the specific job description.
  • Maintain friendly, cordial relations with all employees, patients, and clients.
  • Deliver clinical and administrative support while adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Uphold the Core Values of teamwork, communication, empowerment, quality of care, and friendliness.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations, including HIPAA and health information management.
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms for patient intake.
  • Triage patients by checking vitals, performing blood draws, and administering injections.
  • Observe patients, chart changes in conditions (e.g., adverse reactions), and take necessary action.
  • Assist with lab testing, phlebotomy, and minor procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatment.
  • Assist patients utilizing a Virtual Medicine Provider.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of patient charts and forward them as appropriate.
  • Arrange referrals to specialists and obtain pre-authorizations as directed by the Provider.
  • Perform federal and non-federal DOT, BAT, and Drug Screen exams.
  • Comply with physical, cognitive, and environmental demands of the position.
  • Complete mandatory compliance training.
  • Maintain office cleanliness, including garbage disposal, organization, and team support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Assist with clerical work, such as patient check-in, recording demographic/insurance/financial information, and verifying insurance eligibility.
  • Relay payment policies and billing/collection processes to patients.
  • Answer telephones, take messages, and return voicemails professionally.
  • Support telehealth by preparing patient charts via phone or video conferencing and assisting with follow-ups (e.g., pharmacy requests, scheduling, clinical calls).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current CPR license.
  • At least 1 year of experience as a certified Medical Assistant (MA), EMT, or Paramedic in a clinic setting (urgent care preferred).
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant school strongly preferred; license must be active, in good standing, and verifiable.
  • TB and IV Certification required within 60 days of employment (if applicable in your state).

Experience Levels

  • Level 1: High School Diploma or equivalent with a current CPR license and/or at least 1 year of experience as a certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic.
  • Level 2: Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic with a current CPR license and either (1) 4 years’ experience in a relevant role and 2 years of Fast Pace experience as a Clinical Tech or (2) 6 years’ experience in a relevant role.
  • Level 3: Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic with a current CPR license and either (1) 6 years’ experience in a relevant role and 2 years of Fast Pace experience as a Clinical Tech or (2) 8 years’ experience in a relevant role.
  • Level 4: Certified MA, EMT, or Paramedic with a current CPR license and either (1) 6 years’ experience in a relevant role and 2 years of Fast Pace experience as a Clinical Tech or (2) 8 years’ experience in a relevant role.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Administrative duties, including scheduling, ordering, training, and other tasks assigned by Clinic or Regional Director.
  • Active employment within 7 days of hire.
