Clinical Supervisor Speech-Language Pathology
About the role
The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for providing direct supervision and mentorship to graduate students during their clinical education experiences while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, ethical, and evidence-based speech-language pathology services. This position plays a vital role in preparing future speech-language pathologists by fostering clinical competence, professional judgment, and adherence to program, university, and professional standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site clinical supervision to graduate student clinicians during evaluation and treatment sessions conducted in the university clinic or other designated clinical settings.
- Provide off-site clinical supervision for graduate students completing clinical placements at contracted community sites, including schools, outpatient clinics, and skilled nursing facilities (SNFs).
- Directly supervise diagnostic evaluations for pediatric and adult clients.
- Mentor students in the development of clinical reasoning, assessment, intervention, documentation, and professional communication skills.
- Observe student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback to promote clinical competency.
- Evaluate student clinical performance in accordance with program policies and professional standards.
- Review and approve clinical documentation, including evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with university policies, ASHA standards, state licensure requirements, and applicable legal and ethical guidelines.
- Collaborate with program faculty, the Director of Clinical Education, and affiliated clinical sites to support student success.
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and other program activities as assigned.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Active Florida license in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Completion of ASHA's required two-hour professional development course in clinical supervision.
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience following completion of the Clinical Fellowship (CF).
- Previous experience supervising graduate student clinicians, Clinical Fellows, or providing comparable clinical mentoring.
- Demonstrated instructional, supervisory, and mentoring skills with a commitment to high-quality clinical education and student success.
- Experience working with pediatric and adult populations across a variety of clinical settings is preferred.
- Proficiency in clinical documentation and evidence-based practice.
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 annually.
