About the Role
Summerlin Hospital is a 496-bed facility offering emergency services, a busy maternity department with an average of 450 deliveries per month, a Children’s Medical Center with a NICU, pediatric ICU, and separate pediatric ER, advanced cardiovascular care, surgical services, women’s health, and oncology care. The hospital is an accredited Chest Pain with PCI facility, a Primary Stroke Center, and has received multiple awards from the American Heart Association Get with the Guidelines program.

Responsibilities
- Assume shift responsibility and accountability for planning and providing direct and indirect nursing care to patients, families, care partners, and others.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary team members, direct, and facilitate nursing staff to achieve safe and optimal healthcare outcomes.
- Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
- Oversee and guide employees under your supervision.
- Uphold Patient Centered Care as the foundation for all nursing care.
- Demonstrate Service Excellence standards at all times.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing; BSN required (incumbents as of 3/1/2023 with 20+ years in the position are exempt).
- Minimum of one year full-time or three years part-time experience in acute care specialty nursing.
- One to three years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Proficiency in physical assessment of cardiovascular patients and fluency in cardiovascular anatomy and physiology.
- Comfort with 12-lead EKG interpretation and cardiac arrhythmias.
- Knowledge and experience in stress testing preferred.
- Current RN license in the State of Nevada.
- Current BLS Certification.
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, and/or required specialty training or course completion (current upon hire).
- Must successfully pass any pre-employment assessment(s) required by the facility.
