Job Summary

The clinical supervisor is responsible for clinical and administrative oversight of the programs assigned. This includes conducting individual supervision for assigned staff, reviewing documentation for non-independently licensed staff, providing coaching and guidance on diagnosis and quality measures, coordinating with other supervisors in facilitating clinical group supervision, and participating in quality improvement and operational meetings. The clinical supervisor may also provide services to patients which may include biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, and individual, couples, family, and/or group therapy.

Core Competencies

  • Knowledge of various modes of psychotherapy and evidence-based practices, especially crisis intervention and short-term models using individual, group, and familial approaches.
  • Skill in assessment procedures, diagnostic evaluation, therapeutic treatment, and case management practices including follow-up and closure.
  • Ability to establish therapeutic alliance with clients and their families.
  • Ability to work effectively on a multi-disciplinary team and with the public.
  • Absorbs and incorporates culture into assessment and treatment processes.
  • Communicates effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Actively seeks feedback and supervision, and engages in personal reflection and self-correction.
  • Acknowledges impact of own feelings and cultural values on practice.
  • Knowledge of ethical principles and state laws.
  • Knowledge of and adheres to state reporting and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintains appropriate boundaries with patients and staff.
  • Assesses for trauma and engages in trauma informed practices.

Job Requirements

  • Must be independently licensed in the State of New Mexico (LISW, LPCC, LMFT, or Licensed Psychiatrist or Psychologist).
  • Must have a minimum of one year supervisory experience.
  • Must be willing to use personal vehicle in the course of employment when needed.
  • Must submit to LCDF required background check, TB screen and drug testing.
  • Must be or apply to be board approved supervisor with counseling and social work boards.
