Clinical Speech Pathologist - Children's Rehab

About the role

Join a collaborative pediatric rehabilitation team dedicated exclusively to helping children achieve their highest level of communication, feeding, swallowing, and cognitive function. This outpatient role serves a diverse pediatric population with conditions including autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, acquired brain injuries, feeding and swallowing disorders, and speech/articulation impairments. You'll work alongside experienced occupational therapists, physical therapists, rehabilitation technicians, and fellow speech-language pathologists in a supportive, family-centered environment.

In this role, you'll evaluate and treat children with speech, language, swallowing, and cognitive-communication needs while developing individualized treatment plans that promote meaningful functional outcomes. You'll monitor patient progress, adapt interventions based on clinical response, and partner closely with families and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic speech pathology test procedures and evaluate communication and swallowing function of patients.
• Interpret and report on test results to facilitate medical diagnosis.
• Provide counseling and education about communication and diagnosis to patients and their families.
• Determine therapeutic plan, including need for therapy, frequency of treatment, focus for intervention, prognosis, and duration of therapy.
• Select assistive speech devices to improve patient communication.
• Perform re-evaluation to determine progress after therapy.
• Provide observations about hearing and other behavior to help determine the need for other services.
• Maintain records of all services.
• Communicate results and recommendations for improving communicative function to referral sources and outside agencies such as schools and employers.
• Maintain speech pathology equipment and materials.
• Assist with planning, budget, service or project development, fee setting, and purchase of new equipment or materials.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology
• Current Speech-Language Pathology License (SP) from the State Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology
• Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
• Completion of a nine-month clinical fellowship year

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Manual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient to perform tests.
• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Schedule

Works Mon-Fri, start times between 8:00am and 10:00am; occasional weekends and holidays.

Pay

Pay Range Minimum Annual Salary: $63,250.00

Maximum Annual Salary: $96,467.50

The pay range displayed reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set, and education. The pay range does not include applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.) or the value of benefits (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
