About the role
As a Clinical Specialist in the Neuromodulation Segment (Wisconsin and other locations), you will provide technical clinical expertise and support to the sales process, working under general direction with clinical and sales teammates to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities. This role involves a high degree of independence and independent judgment in planning, organizing, and performing work while continually improving territory efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical, clinical, and programming assistance, primarily in support of 1-2 Territory Manager(s).
- Assist Territory Managers in after-hours call support and activities.
- Integrate into all accounts, build trust and relationships, and establish strong rapport with customers.
- Perform complex programming and case support, working seamlessly with Territory Manager(s) to increase their selling time.
- Foster high-trust relationships with customers, including regional team members.
- Conduct PCP work and educational in-services as directed.
- Contact, visit, and engage clients and potential clients to address questions and concerns about the Company’s products.
- Provide medical professionals with sales support, information, training, staff education, in-services, and technical troubleshooting on Company products.
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of assigned accounts and customers, including competitor activity.
- Conduct evaluations and develop sales strategies for capital equipment opportunities within accounts.
- Collect and study information about new and existing products, and monitor competitor sales, prices, and products.
- Provide feedback to providers on directions for use specific to implantable devices, both within and outside the operating room setting.
- Attend trade shows and conferences to meet clients and discuss new product developments.
- Use clinical expertise to identify customer training and in-service needs to increase usage, comfort, and understanding of the Biotronik NRO product line.
- Comply with FDA regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, and operating procedures.
- Maintain positive and cooperative communications with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Associates Degree or technical certification; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 1-2 years of work experience, with a strong preference for experience working with patients in a clinical setting.
- Ability to communicate, understand, and educate on clinical data in the Chronic Pain Therapies space.
- Strong clinical skills and excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at multiple levels and to large groups.
- Capable of building strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Ability to work an unpredictable schedule that may change on short notice due to operating room schedule changes or delays.
- Accustomed to tight deadlines and managing multiple tasks.
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to work in a highly matrixed, geographically diverse business environment.
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Capable of engaging customers in selling conversations as needed and as directed by the Territory Manager.
Preferred Qualifications
- Patient interaction experience within a healthcare-related environment (e.g., Physical Therapy, medical product sales, RN, LPN).
- Experience working in a broader enterprise or cross-division business unit model.
- 1-3 years of experience with Biotronik NRO, or in a similar spinal cord stimulation (SCS) setting, or with another implantable medical device company.
Physical Demands
- Frequently move up to 40 lbs. from floor to chair/table and between surfaces at approximately the same level.
- Constantly operate a computer, mobile device, and other office productivity equipment.
- Frequent bending, squatting, and balance activities.
- Regularly required to be independently mobile and interact with a computer to exchange accurate information with peers, co-workers, healthcare providers, and patients.
- Must be able to visually examine anatomical structures via radiographic imaging.
- Must abide by medical facility-mandated PPE requirements due to environmental exposures.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 8 hours total per day, and up to 4 hours continuously.
Travel Requirements
- Must have a valid driver’s license and active vehicle insurance policy.
- Ability to travel 25% within and/or outside the assigned region.
