Clinical Specialist, MCS - Louisiana/Mississippi

About the role
In Abbott’s Heart Failure division, we’re advancing the treatment of heart and vascular disease through breakthrough medical technologies in electrophysiology and heart failure, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.
As a key point of contact for clinical issues, you will support assigned territory customers by training and educating them on Abbott products using approved materials. You will also handle Heartline and Travel Call responsibilities, attend implants to provide clinical support, and drive strategic planning to improve clinical outcomes and business objectives within your territory.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary clinical contact for customers in your assigned territory.
- Train and educate customers on Abbott products using approved educational materials and Instructions for Use (IFU).
- Provide clinical support during implants according to approved educational materials.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to improve clinical outcomes and meet business objectives.
- Manage territory clinical and process-related issues, including monthly reports, expense reporting, SFA input, and PEC reporting.
- Collaborate effectively with territory teams, clinical teams, training and education, marketing, technical support, and management.
- Maintain regular communication with your Clinical Manager.
- Adhere to AdvaMed guidelines and pursue continuing education to stay current on clinical issues impacting Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS).
- Evaluate clinical and educational needs of customers and design, develop, and implement quality educational programs.
- Track industry trends to inform marketing of new product directions and provide input into strategic and tactical planning.
- Provide technical and clinical support to customers and the sales team.
- Coordinate and assist with training all centers in your assigned geographical region.
- Maintain customer contact to assess clinical and educational needs and recommend appropriate product modifications.
- Create, maintain, and update educational materials.
- Assist in promoting Abbott’s products to prospective clients in cooperation with the sales team.
- Evaluate product viability and planned improvements or modifications.
- Complete clinical reports and additional documentation as requested by management in a timely manner.
- Protect and act responsibly toward company equipment and confidential information.
- Provide support at tradeshows as requested by management.
Requirements
- Undergraduate Degree in Nursing or another medical discipline; Graduate Degree desirable.
- 3-5 years of heart failure experience or equivalent preferred.
- Background in Nursing, Circulatory Support, or Cardiology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Nursing experience in ICU or CCU settings.
- Clinical publications and group presentation experience.
- Computer literacy.
- Highly motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong desire to help others, ability to remain composed under stress, and well-organized.
- Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) experience highly desirable.

Pay
The base pay for this position is $61,300.00 – $122,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
