Clinical Specialist / Lead RRT
About the role
As Clinical Specialist / Lead RRT, you will provide managerial and clinical leadership of your assigned team. You will also serve as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to support a diverse patient population, with many managing various chronic respiratory disorders, critical illnesses and related symptoms.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and managerial leadership to the Respiratory staff as designated by departmental management.
- Monitor daily operations of assigned areas and act as a resource person for staff.
- Assign therapist workload and adjust staffing based on patient volume.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement.
- Provide feedback on staff performance.
- Assist with development and implementation of Respiratory Therapy Policy/Procedures/Protocols.
- Act as a Respiratory Care liaison by developing/maintaining communication with the multidisciplinary care team.
- Assist with developing and providing ongoing orientation/training for newly hired therapists, existing staff, nursing and LIPs.
- Perform blood gas puncture and analysis (where applicable).
- Perform patient education regarding treatment and care of respiratory illness/disease to patient and family (where applicable).
- If designated as a Technical Consultant by the Blood Gas Laboratory Director, meet minimum qualifications as specified by the CLIA code of federal regulations.
Requirements
- Acegree Associate’s Degree and three years of experience in Respiratory Therapy, including critical care or a specialty environment
- OR Bachelor’s Degree and two years of experience
- Graduate of an accredited Program of Respiratory Therapy
- Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC
- Current licensure by the Ohio Respiratory Care Processional (RCP) Board
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross

Pay
Pay Range Minimum hourly: $30.41 Maximum hourly: $46.38 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
