Clinical Social Worker - MSW - Inpatient
About the role
Professionals within this job family work with individuals, families, and groups to address psychological well-being and promote mental health through therapeutic interventions, counseling, and support services. They connect UVA students and staff to support systems that are available to address a variety of issues, such as housing, financial distress, mental health and crisis intervention. Individual contributors with responsibility in a clinical discipline or specialty. Typically involves diagnosing, treating, and caring for patients, and often include face-to-face interactions with patients. May also spend some time designing and implementing clinical programs, policies, and services using specialized knowledge and skills.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, treat, and care for patients in a clinical setting.
- Provide therapeutic interventions, counseling, and support services.
- Connect UVA students and staff to support systems for various issues.
- Design and implement clinical programs, policies, and services.
- Work under moderate supervision, interpreting or deviating from standard procedures as needed.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited social work program.
- No relevant experience required; experience in the social work field; experience in health care settings is preferred.
- Expectation to become Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and vocational or technical education.
- Works under moderate supervision.
- May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids, and infectious disease.
Skills
- Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to lift/push/pull less than 20lbs.

Pay
The pay range for this role is $57,907.20 - $92,643.20 annually.

Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
