Job Summary

The Clinical Social Worker Lead provides both clinical expertise and programmatic leadership to support high-quality patient care and effective team functioning in the Behavioral Health Unit. This role oversees and guides comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, ensures consistent, evidence-based treatment planning, and supports complex care coordination and discharge processes for patients with acute behavioral health needs.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the day-to-day functions for assigned area.
  • Affords technical assistance and oversees staff schedules.
  • Maintains quality of work and monitors team projects.
  • Mentors staff and provides constructive feedback.
  • Oversees staff training and ensures quality improvement.
  • Provides leadership feedback on staff performance.
  • Aids in monitoring and evaluating services provided for department quality improvement plan.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited graduate school of social work.
  • 2 years of clinical experience with designated population and hospital, emergency room, chemical dependency, or community agency experience.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • LCSW (OR) license.
  • Ability to complete PROACT training provided by hospital.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and conditions as these impact discharge needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to document on electronic record.
  • Knowledge of community resources and Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance requirements.
