About the role
The primary purpose of this position is to promote the advancement of the education of health professionals in an advanced interdisciplinary, immersive clinical simulation center. The center incorporates three levels of advanced medical simulation models, including low, medium, and high fidelity including: human patient simulators, surgical simulation, minimally invasive surgical simulation, progressive anatomy environment, and 3-D and virtual reality simulation.
Responsibilities
- Provides the liaison and training to students, physicians, nurses, staff, faculty, and other healthcare disciplines that are necessary to forward the incorporation of clinical simulation into the curriculum of health professionals.
- Liaison for the development of industry projects and relationships.
- Helps faculty innovate, design and implement a simulation curriculum for multiple disciplines.
- Counsels and trains students, faculty, and staff in the use of simulation equipment and techniques.
- Conducts regular evaluations and critiques of programs, soliciting recommendations from both internal and external customers.
- Manages and leads in program development of new systems, applications, software conversions and upgrades.
- Creates innovative solutions to forward the teaching and research using clinical simulation and identifies opportunities for technology improvement and curriculum integration.
- Participates and supports research activities that focus on educational and clinical outcomes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience with at least one year of clinical experience.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and pharmacology.
- May have background in the medical field such as: Nursing, Radiology Technology, Respiratory Therapy, Paramedicine.
- Knowledge of advanced, web-based technology & strong computer skills required with competency in computer technology.
- Experience as an educator for students and medical professionals.
- Knowledge of outcomes development, measurement, and research.
- Past experience working with industry partners is highly desirable.
- Minimum three (3) years background in previous medical simulation or training in the management and programming of simulation models strongly preferred.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience with at least one year of clinical experience.
- Preferred qualifications include experience as an educator for students and medical professionals, knowledge of outcomes development, measurement, and research, and past experience working with industry partners.
- Three (3) years background in previous medical simulation or training in the management and programming of simulation models strongly preferred.
