About the role
The Clinical Scheduling Coordinator serves as the primary bridge between patients, primary care teams, and specialists. They provide critical administrative support to manage outgoing referrals and referral authorizations.
Responsibilities
- Completing outgoing referrals for the clinic.
- Receiving, reviewing, and scheduling patients per referrals.
- Cooking care for patients between primary care and specialist offices.
Requirements
- Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree and three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of safety rules, regulations, and university policies, including those related to clinical services and HIPAA requirements.
- Knowledge of various health insurance plans, pre-authorization/referral requirements, and medical billing terminology.
- Ability to navigate insurance roadblocks, delayed authorizations, or scheduling conflicts independently to minimize gaps in patient care.
- Strong communication skills across various media and at all levels of medical organizations, with the ability to coordinate with teams and external providers effectively.
- Proficiency in tracking and trending clinical services, coordinating the transmission of medical reports, and maintaining a provider network.
- Ability to ensure accurate scheduling, tracking of clinical services, and compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual and experience with referral processing and authorizations preferred.
