Clinical Resource Nurse - Full time - Mercy Jefferson

Purpose

The Critical Care Coordinator supports the critical care service line by coordinating with various healthcare professionals and serving as a liaison and adjunct support for critical patients.

Responsibilities

• Correspond and collaborate between physicians, pharmacists, ancillary departments, and case management teams across the continuum.
• Respond to patient care areas including Emergency Department, Medical, Surgical, and Cardiac floors to provide critical care expertise and collaboration with intensivists.
• Ensure timely, safe, effective, and high-quality care for patients by assisting with triage and coordination.
• Coordinate processes and enhance collaboration and quality clinical outcomes as evidenced by specified metrics, optimizing performance and adoption of evidence-based practice.
• Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to patients and families, as well as members of the healthcare team.
• Act as a scribe for the physician during a sepsis activation.

Requirements

• Active RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or equivalent.
• Previous critical care experience preferred.
• Strong clinical decision-making skills.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
