About the role

The Clinician Resident at Hanger, Inc. is a key member of the rehabilitation team, responsible for providing comprehensive prosthetic and orthotic care under supervision. This role focuses on assessing patients, formulating and implementing treatment plans, and ensuring patient satisfaction through high-quality care and innovative technology.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with physicians in evaluating and recommending prosthetic or orthotic services based on patient needs.
  • Evaluate and formulate design of prostheses/orthoses, selecting appropriate materials and componentry.
  • Take measurements, model rectifications, and layouts, considering new techniques and materials.
  • Perform fittings, including static and dynamic alignments, and adjust devices to ensure fit, function, and medical efficacy.
  • Instruct patients on the use of their prostheses/orthoses and address any issues or problems they encounter.
  • Provide follow-up care and detailed clinical notes to support medical necessity and reimbursement activities.
  • Conduct in-service training for physicians and allied health professionals.
  • Leverage effective materials management, quality control, and performance processes to enhance device quality and medical efficacy.
  • Avoid safety violations and adhere to regulatory standards, including Medicare, HIPAA, and OSHA requirements.
  • Participate in on-call duties if required.
  • Assist other clinical staff as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or post-graduate Certificate in Orthotics and/or Prosthetics from a CAAHEP accredited college or university.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record meeting Hanger's standards.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree and post-graduate Certificate in Orthotics and/or Prosthetics from a CAAHEP accredited college or university.
  • Comprehensive understanding of biomechanics, pathomechanics, gait analysis, kinesiology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Windows-based office technologies and email.
  • Effective communication skills, including active listening, reading, and comprehension.
  • Ability to instruct non-clinical personnel and customers on patient care objectives.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build professional relationships with physicians, therapists, and patients.
  • Teamwork and organizational skills, along with the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Integrity and the ability to act with honesty, transparency, and respect in all professional interactions.
  • Focus on patient-centered care and continuous improvement.

Competitive compensation packages, including a starting pay range of $20.00-$21.00 per hour plus bonuses and benefits.
