About the Role

This position is for a Clinical Research Coordinator II within the Ophthalmology department at Cincinnati Children's.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage clinical research studies in ophthalmology, ensuring compliance with protocols, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies.
  • Recruit, screen, and enroll study participants, including obtaining informed consent and maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Collect, process, and manage study data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with investigators, sponsors, and other stakeholders to facilitate study progress and resolve issues.
  • Schedule and coordinate study visits, procedures, and assessments for participants.
  • Monitor study progress, track deadlines, and prepare reports for internal and external review.
  • Ensure adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and institutional review board (IRB) requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, health-related, or equivalent field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in clinical research coordination or a related role.
  • Knowledge of FDA, ICH-GCP, and IRB regulations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic data capture systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in ophthalmology or pediatric research.
  • Certification as a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) or Clinical Research Professional (CRP).
  • Familiarity with REDCap or other clinical research databases.
