About the role

This position’s primary function is to serve as a recruiting coordinator facilitating participant recruitment for a Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) grant. The position will promote and ensure good clinical practice in the conduct of the research protocol in the Department/Center. Other responsibilities include coordination of intake interviews, securing primary care provider assents, tracking adherence with study measures, and working with other research personnel for handoff of eligible participants. The position will also participate in study team meetings, assist other coordinators with study-related tasks, and support the DSMB (as needed). Adheres to all University and other regulatory guidelines. Must have experience with research clinical trials. Please note, this position is contingent upon grant funding. This position is hybrid eligible after initial training period.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, screen, consent and enroll participants as specified per protocol from Primary Care practices.
  • Prepare weekly reports for recruitment/enrollment numbers for Investigators.
  • Coordinate the conduct of the research protocol, including maintenance of study documentation, data entry, source documentation and electronic case report forms, resolve data queries, and ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
  • Communicate with subject participants, including scheduling and completing intake interviews, retention (tracking adherence, subject reminders).
  • Maintain relevant trainings (protocol SOP adherence, PennChart, PennCTMS, IRB/OCR trainings).
  • Show vigilance in patient safety, protocol compliance, and data quality consistent with all federal, state, University and GCP guidelines.
  • Proactive communication with Investigators and research study personnel, in addition to primary care collaborators.
  • Attend study team and supervisory meetings.
  • Assist with day-to-day study management and as needed support.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • The candidate must have 1–3 years of prior experience with research clinical trials and participant recruitment.
  • Must be a good communicator, detail-oriented, organized, accountable, and adaptable.

Pay

$53,418.00 – $59,461.50 Annual Rate. Salary offers are made based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job’s level. Internal organization and peer data at Penn are also considered.
