Clinical Research Budget Analyst

About the role

The Clinical Research Budget Analyst (CRBA) is responsible for the calendar build and development of medium to high complexity Coverage Analyses (CA) and the maintenance and update of the coverage determinations for protocol amendments. The position is responsible for the development and negotiation of budgets for clinical research studies regardless of funding source, including industry sponsors, grants, awards, fellowships, cooperatives, etc. This position captures all administrative fees, items and services, and investigator and study team efforts required to carry out the study. The incumbent will be responsible for developing an internal cost budget to inform budget negotiation and ensure all costs are captured in the final sponsor budget. This role will provide guidance to junior colleagues and serve as an expert resource for the research community as well as to define and improve workflows. The incumbent will leverage current and future Seattle Children's systems, such as a Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS), to support pre-award activities.

Responsibilities

• Develop medium to high complexity Coverage Analyses (CA) and calendar builds
• Maintain and update coverage determinations for protocol amendments
• Develop and negotiate budgets for clinical research studies from all funding sources (industry sponsors, grants, awards, fellowships, cooperatives, etc.)
• Capture all administrative fees, items and services, and investigator and study team efforts required to carry out the study
• Develop internal cost budgets to inform negotiation and ensure all costs are captured in final sponsor budgets
• Provide guidance to junior colleagues
• Serve as an expert resource for the research community
• Define and improve workflows
• Leverage CTMS and other Seattle Children's systems to support pre-award activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in biology, other health sciences, or financial/business administration field (Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or similar); OR associate degree with relevant certifications (including but not limited to RHIT, RHIA, CPC, Coverage Analysis, etc.); OR equivalent experience
• Minimum four (4) years' experience in development, negotiation, management, reconciliation, and/or review of clinical trial budgets and/or coverage analysis

Qualifications

• CPT Coding Certificate (preferred)
• Experience developing budgets for industry-funded trials (preferred)
• Experience negotiating clinical trial budgets with industry sponsors (preferred)
• Experience using a Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS) (preferred)
• Working experience utilizing CPT codes in the process of development of clinical trial budgets (preferred)

Pay

$73,378.00 - $146,497.00 per year. This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.

Schedule

Remote position with flexibility to be based in Washington, Alaska, Montana, Georgia, or Florida. (Salary range shown is for Washington and Alaska only.)
