Clinical Research Budget Analyst
Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and manage clinical trial budgets for sponsored research studies
- Negotiate budgets and financial terms with sponsors and CROs
- Prepare budget justifications, cost analyses, forecasts, and financial reports
- Monitor study expenditures and ensure compliance with funding requirements
- Partner with investigators, research teams, sponsors, and research administration teams
- Analyze and manage complex financial data using advanced Excel functions
- Support contract execution, award setup, audits, and study closeout activities
- Provide financial guidance and recommendations to research stakeholders
Requirements
- Direct clinical trial budget experience, including developing, reviewing, and/or managing research study budgets
- Oncology clinical research experience (cancer research experience is required)
- Experience negotiating budgets and financial terms with sponsors and/or CROs
- Knowledge of sponsored research administration, contracts, and compliance
- Experience with financial forecasting and reporting for clinical research studies
- Experience supporting sponsored clinical research finances
- Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with sponsors, investigators, and cross-functional teams
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including: VLOOKUPs, data analysis and manipulation, managing complex spreadsheets, financial reporting and forecasting
Qualifications
Oncology clinical research experience (cancer research experience is required)
Skills
Direct clinical trial budget experience, including developing, reviewing, and/or managing research study budgets
Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $54.00/hr.

About the Role
We are seeking a Clinical Research Budget Analyst with a strong combination of clinical trial budgeting, oncology research, and sponsor negotiation experience. This role will support the financial management of oncology clinical trials, including budget development, sponsor negotiations, contract support, financial reporting, and study closeout activities.
Location
This is a hybrid position in Palo Alto, CA.
