Clinical Research Assistant

Under general supervision, initiates and/or maintains accurate and current logs of all patients referred for participation in clinical research. Performs clerical, administrative, and data management functions for the department. May assist with direct patient care, laboratory services, maintenance of supplies, and other duties as they relate to Clinical Research.

Responsibilities

• Maintain supplies, drugs, and storage facilities for clinical research as appropriate.
• May disburse investigational drug and maintain investigational drug accountability.
• May package and ship specimens to central vendors where applicable; required to complete Hazmat and/or IATA training.
• Maintains regulatory documents in accordance with SOPs and applicable regulations.
• May participate in scheduling monitoring visits, as well as interact with the monitors/auditors while onsite.
• Participates in required training and education programs.
• Assist others in the department with research-related tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Three years of medical office experience preferred.
• Oncology experience preferred.
• Experience in Microsoft Office.
• Experience working with physicians preferred.
• Experience working in clinical research is preferred.

Working Conditions

Traditional office environment. Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

Physical Requirements

• Large percent of time performing computer-based work is required.
• Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
• Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Pay

The pay scale for this position is $22.02 - $33.87 per hour. The actual hiring rate depends on factors such as prior work experience, education, job responsibilities, location, and work performance.
