About the role

The Neuromuscular Division at UCSF seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) to apply extensive knowledge of clinical research protocols and processes to design research projects of large scope and high degrees of complexity. This role will effectively manage multiple projects and make determinations on the feasibility of clinical trials within the research group. Additionally, the CRC will lead the operational and administrative functions of the neuromuscular research group.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the operational and administrative functions of the neuromuscular research group.
  • Make determinations on the feasibility of clinical trials within the research group.
  • Manage multiple projects with competing demands in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, actively listen, think critically, advise, counsel, and work well with others to achieve common goals.
  • Collaborate with other cross-functional teams and interface, collaborate, and influence/persuade other members of an extended study team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Advanced knowledge of clinical research practices and philosophy, and ability to apply knowledge and skills to recommend improvements in methodology.
  • Advanced knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  • Advanced ability to effectively lead one or more projects with competing demands in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Adaptable to quickly changing priorities.
  • Advanced communication skills; including verbal and written, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.
  • Clear and concise communicator.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills, including but not limited to: problem-solving, teamwork development, leadership with other team members.
  • Works well with others to achieve common goals.
  • Prior experience working on clinical trials for ALS and neuromuscular diseases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Master’s degree in a neurosciences field preferred.

Pay

Final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.

Schedule

Minimum of 1 day per quarter onsite, or 30 days from letter send date, based on operational and programmatic needs. Specific onsite schedule may vary based on operational and programmatic needs. Manager retains discretion to modify onsite requirements as needed, consistent with University and School of Medicine policies.
