About the role
Under the general direction of the Trauma Program Manager, performs a variety of duties essential to maintaining the Trauma Registry as mandated by the Department of Health. Responsible for coordinating the daily operations of the Trauma Registry by coding and abstracting the clinical and demographic data from patient records. The Trauma Registrar displays the ability to work independently and with the team and assumes accountability for all work performed.
Responsibilities
- Code and abstract clinical and demographic data from patient records for the Trauma Registry.
- Coordinate daily operations of the Trauma Registry.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Coursework/Training: Medical terminology, or knowledge of medical terminology.
- Coursework/Training: Human anatomy.
- 1 year of experience in a healthcare or related setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework/Training: Medical coding.
- 1 year of medical record abstracting and/or coding.
- 1 year of medical registry experience or 2+ years working in a healthcare-related field.
- 1 year of injury severity coding and reimbursement coding.

Pay
The wage range for this position is $26.49 - $40.52 per hour. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours weekly, Day shift.
