Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive nursing and allied health recruitment plan in collaboration with Nursing leadership and in alignment with the Talent Acquisition strategic plans.
- Integrate a thorough knowledge of human resource management with expertise in contemporary nursing practices and care delivery systems to design and manage recruitment initiatives that meet current and future staffing needs.
- Manage job postings, review of applications, ensure compliance with legal aspects of interviewing and EEO principles, and complete Human Resource forms for selecting applicants, adhering to federal and state employment laws.
- Partner closely with nursing leaders throughout the organization to support their recruitment needs and engage them in the recruitment process.
- Attend career days at area colleges and universities to recruit for nursing and allied health positions.
- Work with schools of nursing and allied health affiliated with UNC Health Nash and in coordination with the Manager of Organizational Learning to develop/enhance recruitment-related partnerships.
- Maintain positive, supportive, and enthusiastic communication and dialogue with prospective applicants, nursing students, Hospital staff, and the public at large.
- Use data and feedback from all applicants to improve the recruitment and hiring experience.
- Maintain and update vacancy reports for nursing staff, prepare staffing reports, and track all nursing position numbers throughout the hospital.
- Aid in planning, organizing, and implementing creative ideas to retain nursing staff.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, or comparable clinical degree, preferred; Bachelor’s degree in an HR-related field, preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: Licensed to practice as an LPN/RN in the state of North Carolina, preferred.
- Experience: Candidate must have either 3+ years of nurse recruitment experience or 3+ years of registered nurse experience within the last 10 years, if licensed RN; Candidate must have 3+ years of recruiting experience, if non licensed in Nursing.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, employment laws and best practices.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
