This position is located at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, Mental Health Directorate, in Temecula, California. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Responsibilities

• Serve as a Clinical Psychologist Mental Health Consultant (MHC) for the Clinic and Mental Health System of Care (MHSOC) Primary Care Mental Health (PCMH) program.
• Determine mental health diagnoses in accordance with the most recent version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) when differential diagnosis is required.
• Provide individual and group treatment using various modalities, including brief problem-focused interventions, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and psychoeducational classes.
• Assess and intervene for individuals with chronic medical conditions and mental health issues affecting those conditions.
• Consult with primary care providers to select, approve, and document treatment priorities.
• Educate clinic staff on primary care mental health principles through trainings and briefings.
• Conduct outpatient group classes, stress management, relaxation training, assertive/social skills training, smoking cessation training, and substance abuse identification with brief interventions appropriate for primary care.

Requirements

• Citizenship: Open to U.S. citizens only.
• Education: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. Transcripts will be required as part of the application.
• Licensure: Current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently, issued by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction.
• Experience: At least one year of specialized experience, including conducting psychological evaluations, providing individual or group counseling services, and implementing therapeutic treatment plans. This experience must be equivalent to the GS-12 level in the federal service. Education cannot substitute for experience in this role.

Pay

Up to $161,313 per year.
