Clinical Program Director

Healogics is the largest provider of advanced wound care services in the United States, treating more than 300,000 chronic wound patients annually across over 600 sites. With an aging society, obesity and diabetes on the rise, and an uptick in surgical procedures, the number of patients with non-healing wounds that would benefit from expert care is dramatically increasing. As a result, the company is working to provide our differentiated, quality outcomes to as many patients that would benefit through our out-patient clinic partnerships.

About the role

The Clinical Program Director is responsible for the management and the strategic growth of the Wound Care Program and other wound care continuum programs for the assigned area of responsibility. This position oversees the complete operations of the Wound Care Center (WCC)®, including day-to-day center operations, staff management, financial management, quality/performance improvement, community education, and clinical functions oversight. The Clinical Program Director maintains collaborative and consultative client relationships within and outside the hospital organization and creates effective working relationships between Healogics and the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Manages the Center’s Operations (20%)
  • Oversees the day-to-day management of outpatient clinic(s) and other wound care continuum programs.
  • Assesses clinic flows, processes, and procedures to identify areas of improvement and implement best practices.
  • Ensures availability of adequate resources, supplies, equipment, and services with hospital and company personnel.
  • Facilitates information flow and maximizes effective communication throughout the program.
  • Prioritizes responsibilities and directs the work of clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Collaborates with healthcare providers, Wound Care Center (WCC)® Providers, and Medical Director regarding clinic and patient needs.
  • May function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) in accordance with Healogics policy.
  • Manages direct reports in conjunction with HR departments, including hiring, coaching, and performance reviews.
• Performs Financial Management (10%)
  • Manages and coordinates the revenue cycle for Healogics and the hospital partner.
  • Stays current with reimbursement changes and provides updates and education to staff.
  • Reviews key financial reports, identifies trends, and develops plans to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Tracks and reports ancillary revenues generated by the program.
  • Manages costs through appropriate utilization of labor and supplies.
  • Completes financial reviews with the Healogics support team and presents results to hospital leadership.
• Manages Community Education/Marketing functions (20%)
  • Works with hospital and Healogics marketing departments to develop and execute strategic marketing plans.
  • Plans and coordinates activities to increase patient referrals to the Wound Care Center (WCC)®.
  • Identifies key target referral sources and builds customer relationships to increase referrals.
  • Maintains and updates a list of Physician Practices within a given radius of the hospital.
  • Visits Physician Practices to raise awareness of the Wound Care Center (WCC)® program.
  • Documents interactions with Physician Practices in the Healogics Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Communicates regularly with leadership regarding goals, targets, and referral development.
• Manages Quality/Performance Improvement functions (10%)
  • Implements and manages a continuous Wound Care Center (WCC)® Performance Improvement Program (PIP).
  • Ensures the program is integrated into the partner hospital’s PIP program.
  • Participates in hospital committees and ensures accurate documentation in patient records and outcomes database.
  • Monitors patient, referring physician, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures compliance with Patient Safety Guidelines and annual requirements.
• Manages Clinical Functions (20%)
  • Coordinates clinical activities and directs the work of clinical staff.
  • Oversees patient care assessment, planning, implementation, and quality improvement.
  • Serves as case manager for a group of wound care patients, including assessments and direct patient care.
  • Performs hyperbaric-related duties upon completion of Healogics Hyperbaric training.
  • May perform hyperbaric safety director duties after completing required training.
• Manages Relationships (15%)
  • Maintains excellent relationships with hospital clients and aligns program goals with hospital objectives.
  • Works effectively at all levels within the partner hospital and participates in hospital meetings.
  • Builds and develops effective working relationships with wound care program providers and staff.
  • Encourages excellent customer service among program staff.
• Performs other duties as required.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to be maintained throughout employment.
• Education and experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field preferred and 1 year of marketing/community education in healthcare or clinical operations experience, or
  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field preferred and 2 or more years of marketing/community education in healthcare or clinical operations experience, or
  • 4 or more years of marketing/community education in healthcare or clinical operations experience.
• Management experience preferred.

Skills

• Demonstrated competency in BLS (Basic Life Support).
• Knowledge of regulatory/accrediting requirements for healthcare organizations.

Pay

The salary for this position generally ranges between $82,400.00 and $109,200.00 annually. This range is an estimate based on potential employee qualifications, including education, experience, geography, and operational needs.
