Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing at Hunter College is the flagship nursing school of the City University of New York (CUNY) and cultivates collaborative nurse leaders promoting wellness and championing health equity in local and global communities through excellence in education, research, scholarship, and advocacy.

About the role

This is a one-year term appointment as Clinical Professor in the Nurse Anesthesia Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner DNP Program, with the possibility of annual renewals based on satisfactory performance. The Clinical Professor title is a full-time, non-tenure-bearing faculty title. An individual in this title is eligible for annual reappointment but may not serve in the title for more than a total of seven (7) years.

The successful candidate will be a highly experienced practitioner or educator who will develop and teach courses, which may include clinical instruction, mentor students, and contribute service to the school, college, university, and profession. Research and scholarship are encouraged but not required. Additional duties include responsibility for committee and School assignments, as well as administrative, supervisory, and other functions as needed to support the mission and strategic goals of the School of Nursing, Hunter College, and CUNY.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in nursing. If earned doctorate is not in nursing, must have a master’s degree in nursing
  • New York State license as a registered nurse (required following hire)
  • Must maintain national certification/recertification as a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA)

Qualifications

  • Academic teaching experience and five (5) years of CRNA clinical experience, particularly serving underresourced communities, is desirable
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities
  • Commitment to health equity and belonging for all
  • Academic teaching experience and scholarship, if applicable, should align with the School mission and strategic goals

Pay

Salary range: $109,898 - $155,388, commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
