Clinical Assistant Professor, Nursing

Position Summary

The College of Nursing is searching for a clinical faculty member to begin Spring 2026 or Fall 2026. The successful candidate will have an appointment with the College of Nursing with primary responsibilities in clinical teaching, with possible classroom teaching, at the undergraduate and graduate levels as appropriate.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Contribute as appropriate to the university’s undergraduate and graduate teaching missions by teaching courses and mentoring students for the college.
• Contribute to scholarship.
• Service as an advisor, mentor, and professional role model to students.
• Service to the college, university, and professional organizations.

Required Qualifications and Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. or DNP degree at the time of appointment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills.
• Demonstrated excellence in oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
• Clinical expertise in nursing.
• Eligible for RN and/or NP licensure in Rhode Island.
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
• Clinical expertise in the area of Family Nurse Practitioner (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in clinical and classroom teaching.
• Evidence and potential for clinical scholarship (preferred).
