About the role

This term position supports clinical and field placements for nursing and health sciences students by coordinating with faculty, students, and clinical partners through the ACEMAPP system.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with nurse educators and placement coordinators in hospitals and clinics to develop clinical/field placements.
  • Coordinate with Department Chairs to determine the number and type of student placements needed each semester.
  • Use the ACEMAPP system to input requests for student groups and precepted placements according to facility deadlines.
  • Attend clinical affiliation meetings, community professional meetings, recruitment job fairs, and ACEMAPP meetings as appropriate.
  • Maintain a list of approved clinical faculty, staff, and preceptors.
  • Interact with clinical agencies to plan and schedule student group clinical or individual senior clinical practicum preceptor rotations.
  • In collaboration with Department Chairs, manage student clinical placement issues as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as reasonably assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • 2-year/Associate’s degree in nursing or a related allied health field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing or allied health.
  • Experience with ACEMAPP software.

Pay

Proposed salary: $22/hour; final offer will depend on the candidate’s experience and qualifications, internal equity, budget availability, and salary administration guidelines.

  • Excellent computer-based organizational skills, including creating and improving systems with multiple variables (e.g., maintaining accurate and detailed reports and records).
  • Strong public relations skills to obtain resources or information using proper etiquette both electronically and in person.
  • Excellent professional communication skills, including the ability to calmly engage with frustrated individuals, remain flexible during unexpected situations, and adapt to changing conditions.
  • Ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with multiple coordinators and nurses across institutions.
  • Skill in keeping records updated and attending to details amid frequent changes.
  • Demonstrated dedication through reliable follow-through and clear communication.
  • Proactive initiative to solve or improve problems without constant supervision.
  • Strong time-management ability to efficiently and effectively accomplish tasks.

Conditions of Employment

Hiring is contingent on eligibility to work in the United States and a satisfactory background investigation including a criminal background check. Offers are also contingent on verification of credentials, employment history, and, if applicable, a satisfactory credit check and pre-employment drug test. Final offers are subject to applicable federal and state laws, USG Board of Regents policies, and GGC bylaws.
