About the Role

Work with the Chief Medical Officer and a team of physicians to identify opportunities to streamline the delivery of evidence-based medicine. This includes identifying and implementing approaches to increase the efficiency of needed specialty care and sharing clinical resources with facility providers. Review treatment plans to utilize virtual specialty care resources, provide clinical guidance and training on efficient specialty care solutions (e.g., telemedicine), and perform direct patient care, including physical examinations, diagnostic tests, and treatment administration.

Responsibilities

  • Serve on committees and workgroups to improve clinical services and outcomes.
  • Assist in developing and implementing clinical policies and procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and supervise training programs for physicians and medical providers, including orientation and education on policy changes and medical resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Deputy Commissioner/Chief Medical Officer or designee.

Qualifications

For Promotional Appointment:

  • One year of service as a Clinical Physician 1.
  • Possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State.
  • Note: Postgraduate training required for full licensure is not counted towards post-licensure medical experience.

For Open Competitive Appointment:

  • Possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State.
  • Two years of post-licensure medical experience.
  • Note: Postgraduate training required for full licensure is not counted towards post-licensure medical experience.

Additional Information

  • Travel requirement: 40%.
  • Geographic Pay: $30,000 differential (not included in the base salary).
