Responsibilities

To independently diagnose, treat, prescribe, and provide general medical care and treatment services to incarcerated individuals, provide clinical supervision and guidance to lower level clinical physicians and other medical providers, and may manage and supervise medical services for an assigned facility, unit, or program.

Requirements

• One year of service as a Clinical Physician 1, and possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State for a promotional appointment.
• Possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State and two years of post-licensure medical experience for an open competitive appointment.

Qualifications

• Note: Postgraduate training that is required to obtain full licensure would not be counted towards post-licensure medical experience.
