Clinical Pharmacist-Retail - PRN
About the role
Oversees the preparation and dispensing of medication, medication order verification, and ensures the monitoring of patient medication therapy.
Acts as a resource for the provision of medication information for patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Identifies, recommends, resolves, and prevents medication-related problems through intervention with the physician.
Supervises and directs pharmacy support personnel to ensure the timeliness of medication administration.
Responsibilities
- Oversees medication preparation and dispensing
- Verifies medication orders
- Maintains patient medication therapy
- Provides medication information to various healthcare professionals
- Intervenes with physicians to resolve medication-related issues
- Supervises pharmacy support staff
- Ensures timely medication administration
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited school or college of pharmacy
- Current pharmacist license from an applicable State Board of Pharmacy
Qualifications
- Previous retail experience is preferred but not required
Skills
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of pharmacology and medication management
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail
