About the role
The Clinical Pharmacist, Pediatrics provides leadership for all clinical pharmacy activities within assigned area. They support staff development to ensure staff meets minimum competency standards. They maintain knowledge of current pharmaceutical practices and policies, and provide oversight, guidance, and support for all assigned areas.
Responsibilities
- Supports staff development to ensure staff meets minimum competency standards.
- Maintains knowledge of current pharmaceutical practices and policies.
- Provides oversight, guidance, and support for all assigned areas.
- Participates in the planning, organization, implementation, and follow-up of new programs and activities.
- Promotes safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapy throughout the department.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy required, PharmD degree preferred.
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited residency program or a minimum of 2 years' experience.
- Active RPH required, Active Alabama Controlled Substance certification required, BLS required, BPS certification preferred.
Qualifications
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.
- Strong team leadership skills, strong organization, interpersonal, and customer relations skills.
- Must be able to meet strict deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, and excellent organizational skills.
- Must be able to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Able to remain calm in difficult situations.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, proficient computer skills, proven track record of successful performance.
- Ability to understand complex multifactor situations and bring appropriate solutions.
- Able to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Proficient in pharmaceutical calculations.
- Knowledgeable in aseptic technique.
