About the role

As a Clinical Pharmacist you will work in an Ambulatory, Inpatient Services, Oncology and Infusion at Indian River Hospital, you will provide pharmacy services and ensure the appropriate selection, dosing, administration, and dispensing of medication orders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, and evidence-based pharmacy and medication services.
  • Ensure the appropriate selection, dosing, administration, and dispensing of medication orders.
  • Verify medication orders and/or dispense medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.
  • Document services in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives.
  • Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards.
  • Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers, and/or patients.
  • Provide cost-effective care.
  • Be accountable for drug use policy adherence.

Requirements

  • PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire.
  • Individuals required to administer immunizations: current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) and completion of a Board of Pharmacy approved course in the administration of immunizations or certification obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Individuals required to respond to adult or pediatric cardiopulmonary arrest events: current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), or certification obtained within one year of hire.

Qualifications

  • Board certification.
  • Clinical Pharmacist with 3-5 years of inpatient hospital or equivalent experience.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of pharmacology and pharmaceutical sciences.
