About the role
The Pharmacist provides quality pharmaceutical care by evaluating patients’ drug therapy, recommending appropriate drug therapy and serving as an educational resource to patients and other health care professionals. The Pharmacist also utilizes a computer system to enter orders, dispense medications and intravenous solutions to patients, and supervise technical employees.

- Check all technical work before doses are dispensed
Requirements
- BS or PharmD from a School of Pharmacy
- Health system experience preferred but not required
Qualifications
- Current licensure in the State of Alabama
- Controlled substances permit
- Parenteral license
- Preceptor license (when eligible)
- BCLS provider (ACLS preferred)
Skills
- Effective communication skills
- C competence in mathematical calculations
- Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care that is appropriate to the various ages of the patient population

Physical Requirements
- Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., use of a computer keyboard)
- Lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs.), including boxes, equipment, unit-dose cassettes, and IV solutions
- Sitting, walking, or standing for a long period of time (4-8 hours) is often necessary
- Normal range of hearing and vision to perform work and communicate effectively
- Must be able to physically operate the equipment used for the job
