Clinical Operations Manager- Vascular Access, Telemetry, and Inpatient Dialysis

About the role

The Clinical Operations Manager combines clinical experience and contemporary leadership practices with the IU Health Way to achieve excellent outcomes. Accountable for translating and achieving our strategic priorities: quality and safety improvements, care affordability, great patient experiences, and great team member experiences. This role provides strategic vision and operational planning for assigned units (Vascular Access, Telemetry, and Inpatient Dialysis) and leads an interprofessional team to create an environment where the team is empowered to achieve excellence in patient and organizational outcomes.

Responsible for advancing nursing practice by advocating and consistently embedding evidence-based practices and professional nursing standards. Provides oversight of units that operate 24/7, including weekends and holidays. This is a fully onsite role with a Monday-Friday day shift, with availability to round during evenings and weekends and on-call duty every 8 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic vision and operational planning for assigned units.
• Lead an interprofessional team to empower excellence in patient and organizational outcomes.
• Advance nursing practice by embedding evidence-based practices and professional nursing standards.
• Oversee 24/7 unit operations, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Bachelor of Nursing (BSN). If bachelor’s degree is not in nursing, must have a Master of Nursing (MSN).
• Master’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
• Specialty certification related to nursing practice or leadership preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Previous leadership experience strongly preferred.

• Reports to: Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO)
• Direct Reports: 45-50 team members
• Collaborates with: All Inpatient Units, Emergency Department, other RN leaders
