About the Role
The Pharmacy Manager reports to the Director of Pharmacy and collaborates with managers and staff across the department. This role is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing patient care-related pharmacy services, providing leadership for professional staff, and ensuring pharmaceutical services meet patient needs in an economical manner.
Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and manage pharmacy services related to patient care.
- Provide leadership for professional pharmacy staff.
- Ensure pharmaceutical services meet patient care needs while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate activities to develop and improve pharmacy services.
- Disseminate information effectively to all levels of healthcare personnel.
- Contribute to pharmaceutical literature and progressive pharmacy practice.
- Mentor and work with pharmacy students at all levels.
- Conduct research demonstrating originality and investigative ability in administrative and/or clinical pharmacy practice, suitable for publication.
Requirements
- Advanced degree (Pharm.D. or equivalent).
- Completion of a residency program approved by the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists, a fellowship in pharmacy, or demonstrated equivalent achievement in pharmacy practice.
- Proven leadership ability in coordinating and improving pharmacy services.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of progressive pharmacy practice.
- Reliable, dependable, and willing to assume additional responsibility.
- Experience working with pharmacy students at all levels.
- Conducted research suitable for publication in pharmaceutical or medical literature.
Qualifications
- Licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of Michigan.
- Board Certified in the area of specialty practice (preferred).
