About the role
Provides age-specific pharmaceutical care and basic clinical services within assigned patient care areas, supporting unit, department, and hospital goals, programs, QA, and PI activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage medication orders with age-specific considerations to ensure safety, including processing, preparation, and dispensing.
- Participate in pharmacotherapeutic planning and contribute to departmental goals and quality initiatives.
- Supervise and guide healthcare team members, ensuring effective pharmacy practice.
- Prepare sterile products for dispensing and provide drug information and education.
- Actively participate in departmental committees and utilize automation to enhance safety and efficiency.
- Complete assigned goals and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Minimum one year of hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
- Educational requirement: Bachelor of Science or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.).
- Current, active pharmacy licensure for the relevant state, or eligibility with acquisition within 120 days.
- Certifications such as BLS/ACLS and advanced clinical training are preferred.
- Computer literacy, interpersonal skills, and clinical awareness are essential, with advanced skills in order entry and software applications preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and cognitive ability to interpret medication orders and reference materials.
