Our 291-bed, acute care hospital features the San Diego Spine & Joint Center, a highly credentialed acute rehabilitation center, our Paradise Health & Senior Center, a fully equipped and modern cardiac catheterization lab, and comprehensive inpatient and outpatient surgical services, and 24-hour emergency services. In addition to our healthcare services, we offer comprehensive behavioral health services on the hospital campus and Bayview campus in Chula Vista. Responsibilities

  • Supports administrative responsibility for the department service functions and works collaboratively with the unit Director and/or Manager.
  • In the absence of the unit Director and/or Manager, may assume the administrative scope of the unit assigned.
  • Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current federal and/or state regulations.
  • Prepares, conducts and/or oversees department(s) orientation and training of personnel.
  • Communicates with staff, physicians, and administration both written and verbally.
  • Responsible and accountable for the quality of staff and functions during their shift.
  • Assists the Department Director in the daily operations of the unit, directing, supervising, and evaluating personnel, ensuring the proper use of time, equipment, and staff.
  • Ensures the efficient functions of the department.
  • Performs direct patient care, only as needed, within the scope of practice.
  • Continually assesses care and directs staff to make immediate changes in the plan of care.

Requirements

  • Current and valid state Registered Nurse license.
  • Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support certificate (BLS) upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire and maintain current.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certificate preferred for Intensive Care.
  • Non-OB Facilities – NRP Required 90 days after hire and maintained.
  • Professional Certification within 2 years of hire, preferred.

Pay

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $51.84 to $71.46 per hour. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, considering factors such as skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
