Responsibilities

  • Serves as administrative support for departmental service functions, collaborating with the unit Director and/or Manager.
  • Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with federal/state regulations.
  • Prepares, conducts, and/or oversees department orientation and training of personnel.
  • Communicates with staff, physicians, and administration both verbally and in writing.
  • Ensures the quality of staff and functions during their shift, directing, supervising, and evaluating personnel.
  • Assists the Department Director in daily operations, ensuring efficient departmental functions.
  • Performs direct patient care, within the scope of practice, and continuously assesses care, directing staff to make immediate changes in the plan of care.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid California Registered Nurse license.
  • BCLS (ARC or AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • ACLS (ARC or AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • PALS (ARC or AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Basic Arrythmia Interpretation certificate within 30 days from date of hire.
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certificate is required within 90 days from date of hire and maintain current.
  • Training on Violence in the Workplace prevention within 90 days from date of hire.
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certificate preferred for Intensive Care Non-OB Facilities – NRP Required 90 days after hire and maintained.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Professional Certification within 2 years of hire preferred.

Pay & Benefits

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $XX.00 to $XX.00.
