About the role
The ideal candidate will have clinical experience in community health nursing. This position involves teaching both didactic and clinical classes, supervising clinical instructors, and maintaining strong relationships with clinical facilities.
Responsibilities
- Teach at least 36 credits annually, designing an effective learning environment that addresses contemporary issues in nursing.
- Evaluate student learning using various assessment tools and provide timely feedback.
- Develop and implement the nursing education program's philosophy and objectives.
- Lead simulation learning experiences in the Nursing Lab and oversee clinical adjuncts.
- Communicate effectively with clinical agency representatives, staff, faculty, and students, identifying and addressing clinical issues promptly.
- Maintain and update student records, including Student Success Plans and Progress Disciplinary Plans.
- Complete clinical site evaluations and adhere to/enforce policies and procedures of Arizona College of Nursing and the assigned clinical facility.
- Connect students to college resources and consistently coach them on soft skills.
- Participate in faculty meetings and other nursing events, contributing to the campus culture.
Requirements
- Graduate degree in nursing or related field from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or CHEA.
- A minimum of three (3) years' work experience as a professional registered nurse providing direct patient care.
- Previous experience teaching in a registered nursing program at a college or university is preferred.
- A current unencumbered state professional registered nurse license or enhanced compact nurse licensure relevant to the state of teaching location.
- Certified Nurse Educator certification and national certification in area of nursing specialty is preferred.
- Maintain professional competence/expertise in teaching through activities such as nursing practice, continuing education programs, conferences, workshops, seminars, academic courses, research projects, and professional writing.
