Position Summary
Supports the development of clinical competencies in nursing students through hands-on instruction, simulation, and evaluation. Demonstrates technical nursing skills, sets up and maintains simulation labs, and provides student supervision and feedback during practice and validation sessions. Collaborates with faculty to assess student performance, delivers remediation as needed, and contributes to continuous quality improvement efforts in nursing clinicals and labs. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
- Two (2) years of medical practice as a registered nurse (RN).
- Experience instructing and facilitating nursing students’ learning.
- Current Ohio RN license, or Compact RN License, including OH.
- Ability to work occasional weekends and evening hours.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to establish and maintain driver eligibility under CSU Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in nursing.
- Experience in nursing education or staff development.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Current knowledge and understanding of nursing skills and equipment used in practice.
- Knowledge of the latest trends, standards, and regulations in education.
- Knowledge of key industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships and work as an individual contributor and an effective team player.
- Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines, and tackle emergencies and difficult situations.
- Ability to travel and work flexible and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
